Robert Moore joined Environmental Advocates of New York as the organization's executive director in June 2004.  

During his tenure, Environmental Advocates has placed an increasing emphasis on helping strengthen the overall environmental community in addition to positively impacting the state’s environment. Strategic partnerships, helping establish a common agenda among environmental organizations, and supporting the priorities of the environmental community, particularly as those issues play out in the State Capitol, are all big parts of Environmental Advocates’ philosophy since Moore joined the organization.

"Environmental Advocates of New York plays a critical role in championing the policy and practices that are needed to protect the state’s air, water, lands, and wildlife. I am lucky to be able to lead such a respected organization,” said Moore.

Prior to joining Environmental Advocates, Moore served as the Lake Champlain Lakekeeper for the Conservation Law Foundation’s Vermont Advocacy Center. Before that Moore was the Executive Director of Prairie Rivers Network, Illinois’ only statewide river conservation group. For his work, Moore was recognized by the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Clean Water Network as one of the 30 Clean Water Heroes of the Past 30 Years.

Moore has a Master’s Degree in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Illinois State University.
